Sunday Night Mets - 5/24/09

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Injuries continued to plague the Mets as they ecountered a rotten series against the Dodgers in California. Swept in Los Angeles with an anemic offense, the Mets got themselves working again when they shipped up to Boston. A miraculous home run from Omir Santos gave the Mets a stunning victory Saturday night when they needed a huge morale booster. Although this week we’ve seen Delgado and Cora get added to the DL as well as Reyes taking more time off, Church ailing a hamstring and KRod getting sent to the hospital, you would think this team would lose their fire and passion. If anything, the intensity has risen, and we’ll have that up for debate tonight. Also a special treat. The HBTM crew for the past month or so has been drafting their own Met all-star teams based on players productions on the team.

Sunday Night Mets - 5/17/09

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

No Reyes, No Delgado, No Problem? The Mets have had great success starting their western trip thus far without two of their biggest catalysts. But the heart of their line-up looks as heavy as its been all season adding Gary Sheffield to the line-up everyday. Fernando Tatis has also done well getting more playing time, but where does this leave Daniel Murphy whose without a start in the past week? Also Jon Niese has been sent back down to AAA after a less then steller performance this past Wednesday. Now we’re starting to hear whispers of Tim Redding’s name being added to the rotation.
